DEVELOP NEW SKILLS
When at work, try to develop an upward learning curve. Never shy away from new technology, new processes or something which you do not know. Sometimes doing the work in a different manner may result in saving time and effort. “It really helps to develop an attitude to learn at every point of life,†says Shyam Sunder, Account Director at a leading advertising firm. Developing new skills will always add to your personal strengths and contribute to higher productivity.
IGNORE MINOR IRRITANTS
Most of the time people worry about minor things at work. Work related stress is very common and we have to understand that everyone goes through it. If your boss has given you a task which is very time consuming, you should start working on the task right away rather than worrying about how to complete the task and how much time it is going to take. Getting started is essential and pondering over it could be demotivating. Learn to deal with interruptions. It could be an unexpected visitor, a colleague hanging out in your cabin for too long. We need to instill the ability to ignore minor irritants. It could be a negative remark by anyone or a minor misunderstanding. Keep your spirits high.
POWER BREAK
When buried with work, give yourself power breaks. Our body needs to relax and refresh. If you have been working on the computer for long, get up in between and stare out of the window for some time, go for a stroll or exercise on your desk. Walk to the cafeteria for a bite. Power breaks will help you make you feel better.
