Productive at WorkTO-DO LIST : Invest in a things-to-do notebook. Writing down a list of activities that you intend to do for the day contributes a lot to your productivity. It not only helps you to plan your day but also helps in timeliness and completion of tasks. Don’t delay communication. You may need to do a lot of damage control in future, if you don’t communicate at the right time in the right way. While planning your day, remember, your schedule can be disrupted by unforeseen interruptions.

SET REALISTIC GOALS : Identify high payoff activities at work and devote more time and energy to these activities. Setting realistic goals, careful planning and executing your plans to detail is very important. It is important to set priorities and delegate a few tasks if possible. Anoop Ramachandran, Head HR at Future Generali feels “delegating without fear and inspiring your team members to perform better also ensures productivity. Share your ideas with your team and encourage them to ideate to bring in synergy and enhanced results”.

FACE CRITICISM WITH THE RIGHT APPROACH : Dr R Nargundkar, who has conducted more than hundred executive development programmes, believes “accepting others as you accept yourself ensures a positive attitude and perception”. When you face criticism, try to analyse it rationally. Learn to face criticism with a positive state of mind. Try to improve yourself, if you find the criticism valid. Most people spend much of their time in worrying and getting frustrated or being angry for minor things. When you feel down and depressed, try to turn the situation by reminding yourself to give it your best.
