Windows XP DOS Commands and TricksWindows XP DOS Command should be run at the prompt of the Cmd.exe. To open Command Prompt window, Go to Start, click Run, type cmd, and then click OK button.

Attrib
Displays, sets, or removes the read-only, chronicle, system, and invisible attributes determined to files or directories. acclimated without parameters, attrib displays attributes of all files in the current index.

ipconfig
Displays all present TCP/IP network configuration standards and refreshes Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) and Domain Name System (DNS) settings. Used externally parameters, ipconfig displays the IP address, subnet mask, and default gateway for all adapters.

Type
Displays the subject matter of a text file. Use the type command to look a text file without modifying it.

Find
Searches for a definitive string of text in a file or files. After searching the specified file or files, catch displays any lines of text that consist of the specified string.
